About Me

The edible landscaping movement is growing. People are realizing that over the last few generations we have stepped away from the land, and are often consumed with our busy lives, inside, staring at screens. There is a growing movement to simplify life a bit, to appreciate the land, and to nurture our loved ones with healthy food. As more people experience supply chain difficulties, and the rising cost of organic produce, they will look to other alternatives - such as growing some of their own food. Gardening can be intimidating at first, and not everyone has the time to teach themselves a new skill. I will be there with a helping hand, showing people how they can garden sustainably, and how that can improve the health of not only their family, but also the wildlife in their backyard ecosystem. Growing food at home reduces your carbon footprint, and using regenerative methods improves soil health for generations to come. Sustainable garden practices will not only become more desired, but also more necessary in the future.

My Experience

I am a graduate of the Edmonds College Horticulture Program. I specialized in Nursery Growing and Urban Agriculture. I now teach Vegetable Production for the Horticulture Department and manage the Campus Community Farm at the College, where I grow thousands of pounds of food every year for food insecure students through the Campus Food Pantry. I take advantage of our mild climate and am able to grow food year round at this urban farm. I am also a certified Master Pruner.

Vision

I still get excited every time I harvest something delicious out of my own garden or for someone else. I want others to feel that pride. It is the purest joy to grow something healthy for those that you love.
